The above quote by Reiko Aylesworth draws the perfect picture of her career. She was spotted by talent scout when she was in college, where she like to play in some local theaters. At the beginning of her career, Reiko took a small part in numerous movies and TV series, such as Law & Order, You’ve Got Mail, Random Hearts, The West Wing, and CSI. She made quite a breakthrough when she appeared for 5 episodes in The American Embassy (2002).
When the series were cancelled, Reiko Aylesworth auditioned for the part of Nina Myers in Fox’s 24, but the role went to Sarah Clarke. When casting began for 24′s second season, she again auditioned, this time for the part of Kate Warner, but the role went to Sarah Wynter. However, the producers were impressed with her and asked her to join the cast for a ten episode recurring role as Michelle Dessler, a CTU agent. She later ended up playing in all 24 episodes of that season. Her 24′s career ended when the character Michelle Dessler killed by a car bomb at the beginning of season 5.
After 24, Reiko Aylesworht is once again struggling to find a significant role in her acting career. She appeared as recurring character in E.R, Lost, Damages, and Stargate Universe. She also got the opportunity to plays as one of the lead roles in Alien vs Predator – Requiem (movie, 2007).
Not much is known about Reiko Aylesworth’s personal life. Rumor stated that she once dated her 24 co-star, Kiefer Sutherland. While because her 24 character, Michelle Dessler, has a great chemistry with her on-screen husband, Tony Almeida (played by Carlos Bernard), some fans suspected that they also married in real life, which obviously not true.
