Love and Career:
Born in NYC, Kim Raver was a budding actress from the time she was little, with a regular role on Sesame Street for three years. After Sesame Street, the young actress joined Off-Off-Broadway’s first all-children’s theater. In college, Kim was a fine arts graduate of Boston University.
After college, Kim Raver continues to study theater in New York, and she got her Broadway debut in 1995, playing in Holiday with Laura Linney and Tony Goldwyn. Much like another TV actress, she started her career as a guest stars in numerous series, such as Law & Order, Spin City and The Practice.
Her big break came in 1998, when she got one of the lead roles for Third Watch, a drama about New York firefighter. Played as Kim Zambrano, she appeared as regular cast for the first five seasons, and as a guest star in the 6th and last season.
Exactly after her time on Third Watch, Kim Raver got the role as Audrey Raines in the hit television series, 24, where she was taking part for full two seasons (5th and 6th). During 24, she also acted in the ABC series The Nine, but it was canceled shortly after its premiere, because of bad ratings.
Kim Raver also got a starring role in the NBC drama Lipstick Jungle. She’ll work alongside TV vet Brooke Shields, who happen to attended the same grade school as Kim. She joined Season 6 of Grey’s Anatomy in a recurring role as Dr. Teddy Altman, a cardiothoracic surgeon brought in by Dr. Owen Hunt, who served with her in Iraq. Since January 2010, it was announced that Kim Raver had become a series regular on the show.
Kim Raver married her husband, French filmmaker Manu Boyer, in 2001. A year later she gave birth to their first son, Luke West. In October 2007, Kim Raver and her husband welcomed their second child, Leo Kipling Boyer.
