Love and Career:
Unlike any other actress, Kristen Bell’s rose to fame was by performing in theater. She got her first key role as Becky Thatcher in the short-lived Broadway musical of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. In the same year, Kristen Bell also she auditioned for the television series Smallville for the role of Chloe Sullivan, a part eventually won by Allison Mack.
After that, Kristen Bell appeared in a handful of television shows as a special guest, where she was finding trouble gaining a recurring role in a television series. Fortunately, her persistence paid off, she won the role of the title character in Rob Thomas’ Veronica Mars (2004) as the seventeen year old detective Veronica. The series earned positive reviews from television critics, as did Bell’s performance.
During and after Veronica Mars, Kristen Bell found herself once again busy with theater’s works. In 2007, Bell had voiced interest in appearing on Heroes because she was a fan previous to being cast. She then got the role of Elle Bishop without the need of being auditioned. She also appearing in Gossip Girl TV series as the narrator voice, where she’s being uncredited in the title.
